Hidden Cult Lace Up Set – Stretch Rib Knit Two-Piece
Our lace up set brings together stretch rib knit fabrication and adjustable corset-inspired lacing for a silhouette that balances structure with comfort. The cropped top features functional lace-up detail running the front placket, allowing you to customize the fit and neckline depth throughout the day.

We built the hidden cult lace up set around a polyester-spandex rib knit that maintains compression without restricting movement. The vertical rib structure creates natural shaping lines while the 8% spandex content provides recovery after stretching. This blend holds dye saturation better than cotton alternatives, keeping the black colorway deep through repeated wash cycles.

Lace-up adjustment & closure system
The front lacing on this set functions as both design detail and practical adjustment mechanism. Twelve eyelets run the center placket of the cropped top, threaded with a 48-inch flat lace that won’t twist or curl during wear. You can tighten the lacing for a more structured corset effect or loosen it slightly for a relaxed V-neckline.
We reinforced each eyelet with doubled fabric backing to prevent tearing when the laces are pulled taut. The lace itself is a grosgrain weave that resists fraying at the ends. Unlike decorative lace-up details on some coordinated sets, this closure actually determines the garment’s fit across the bust and ribcage – plan to adjust it based on whether you’re layering over a bralette or wearing the top on its own.

Sizing, fit & body measurements
Recommended measurements
Our lace up set runs true to standard US sizing. The top is designed to fit snugly through the ribcage with the lacing adjusted to your preferred tightness. For reference, a size medium fits a 34-36 inch bust and 28-30 inch waist. The high-waisted bottom sits two inches above the natural waistline.
Length proportions
The cropped top hits approximately one inch below the bust line on most body types, creating a 2-3 inch gap of exposed midriff when paired with the high-waisted bottoms. If you prefer more coverage, size up one increment – the added length will bring the top hem closer to the bottom’s waistband. The bottoms themselves have a 27-inch inseam that grazes the ankle bone on individuals between 5’4″ and 5’8″ in height.

Lace up set fit and styling questions
The lacing should be snug enough to create light compression across your ribcage without restricting breathing or movement. We recommend starting with moderate tension and adjusting throughout the day based on your activity level. If you’re layering over a bralette, you may want to loosen the laces slightly for comfort. The eyelets are reinforced to handle firm tension, but over-tightening can distort the ribbed texture along the placket.
Yes, both pieces are designed to function independently. The lace-up top pairs with high-waisted jeans, skirts, or trousers, while the ribbed bottoms work with crop tops, bodysuits, or tucked-in shirts. The monochrome construction makes it easy to mix these pieces into your existing wardrobe without worrying about pattern or color matching.
Most customers wear a wireless bralette or bandeau underneath for coverage, especially if you plan to loosen the lacing for a deeper V-neckline. The ribbed knit is opaque enough that you can skip underlayers if you lace the top snugly. For a more structured look, a longline sports bra provides additional support while remaining invisible under the lace-up placket.
The 8% spandex content in the rib knit provides excellent recovery. You may notice slight relaxation in the fabric after 4-6 hours of wear, but the compression returns fully after washing. To maintain the set’s elasticity long-term, always air dry rather than using a machine dryer, and avoid fabric softener which can coat the spandex fibers.
Measure your bust and waist against our size chart. If you fall between sizes, consider whether you prefer a tighter or more relaxed fit. The lace-up closure provides about two inches of adjustment range, so if you’re on the border between sizes, the smaller size will still fit with the laces loosened. Keep in mind the cropped length becomes slightly shorter as you size down.
The lacing is fully functional and controls the fit across your bust and ribcage. The twelve eyelets are reinforced with doubled fabric backing and threaded with a 48-inch grosgrain lace that won’t fray or twist. Unlike some corset-style details that are sewn in place, you can completely remove and re-lace this closure to adjust the tightness based on how you’re wearing the top.
The bottoms have a 27-inch inseam that typically grazes the ankle bone on individuals between 5 foot 4 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall. If you’re shorter, expect a slight pooling at the ankle. Taller individuals will find the length hits slightly above the ankle bone for a cropped look. The high-waisted design sits two inches above your natural waistline, which affects overall length perception.
